Those Team Red Star kids are going to let some other creators play in their universe. This November will see the launch of a third Archangel Studios title called “Tales of the Red Star.” With this new title, writers from all over the industry will be invited to tell stories based on the Red Star universe. The first issue will find a story by Geoff Johns with art by Jet, artist of “Assassin,” another Archangel Studios title.
Over at the CrossGen booth we overheard Lady Death creator Brian Pulido talking with CrossGen’s Bill Rosemann about possible plans for the 10th anniversary of Lady Death next year. Brian excitedly was asking about the possibility of a crossover with the CrossGen universe, specifically the title “Sojourn.” Rosemann shared that excitement and said they definitely needed to talk further. The duo left to discuss those 10th anniversary plans. Realize, of course, that the above is just talk at this point, but look forward to some big plans next year to celebrate this milestone.
Creator Damon Hurd, nominated for an Eisner this year for “My Uncle Jeff,” has available at his booth at Comic-Con International a preview book featuring his next work, a fictional series from Alternative Comics coming this fall called “A Sort of Homecoming.” Art is by Pedro Camello. Drop by his booth to purchase a copy this weekend.
Inker Marc Deering impressed us with this story. He told us how he recently inked 22 pages of “Demonslayer” for Avatar Press in just fourteen days. Now, there are many who’ve probably had to do that or worse in this industry, but seven days into it Marc flew with his wife to Jamaica for a three day vacation to celebrate their 10th anniversary. The night Marc and his wife returned from Jamaica he stayed up till 4 am inking. That Marc Deering, he’s an inking machine.
