Mere days after briefly teasing fans with the promise that "Jack's Back," Adult Swim has released the first full-length trailer for the much-anticipated return of "Samurai Jack."

Clocking in at 1 minute and 20 seconds, the teaser offers much to delight devotees of Genndy Tartakovsky’s beloved, but tormented, warrior, laying out the premise of the upcoming fifth season while depicting richly colored settings and, of course, over-the-top action.

It's been 50 years since we saw Samurai Jack and time has not been kind to him. Aku has destroyed every time portal and Jack has stopped aging, a side effect of time travel. It seems he is cursed to just roam the land for all eternity.

Premiering in 2001 on Cartoon Network, the acclaimed series follows a time-displaced samurai on a quest to defeating the shape-shifting demon Aku, who destroyed his father’s kingdom. Praised for its animation style and epic battle scenes, “Samurai Jack” aired for four seasons before being canceled in 2004 by Cartoon Network. During that time it earned four Emmy Awards.

With the 10-episode fifth season, premiering March 11, "Samurai Jack" moves to the more mature Adult Swim and the Toonami programming block, which Tartakovsky explained last year, initially posed a challenge, “because people watch it with their kids through the generations, right, so I didn’t want to go full-on heads getting chopped off, blood spurting everywhere.”

“Samurai Jack” returns Saturday, March 11, at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network.
