Although there's been some hand-wringing among fans about the approaching expiration of Samuel L. Jackson's nine-picture contract with Marvel Studios, the actor seems content to keep playing the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"I'm totally cool doing Nick Fury as long as they keep writing him in these films, or whatever he's doing," the actor tells MTV, while side-stepping a question about eventually being replaced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "But it seems like right now he's on that same path as Jules [from Pulp Fiction]. Maybe they'll cross paths. Jules is looking for whatever, and Nick Fury's off trying to find out what the hell happened to S.H.I.E.L.D., and how these people infiltrated in that particular way."

Hold on a minute, that sounds like the Avengers/Pulp Fiction crossover we've all been waiting for ...

"Maybe they'll cross paths some day," Jackson continues. "I'll do Jules and Nick Fury in one movie together. That'd be my own Orphan Black."

Jackson will next appear as Nick Fury in Avenges: Age of Ultron, which hits theaters on May 1.
