Along with X-Men movie fans and Fox executives, you can add Ryan Reynolds to the long list of people who hope "Logan" isn't really Hugh Jackman's last outing as Wolverine.

Although the "Deadpool" star has made plenty of jokes at the expense of Jackman and 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," in which the Merc with a Mouth made his unceremonious big-screen debut, he despearately wants the characters to appear together again.

“I want Deapdool and Wolverine in a movie together,” Reynolds told Entertainment Weekly. “What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh. If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line.”

Reynolds, who held out hope for a Wolverine cameo in the first "Deadpool," referred to Jackman as "one of the best human beings," adding, "I genuinely love the guy.”

The actor recently revealed that he knew at the time that "X-Men Origins" was going to be a mess, and had even attempted to warn the studio. However, he was told that if he wanted to play Deadpool, this was his one shot. “The conversation at the time was, 'If you want to play Deadpool, this is your chance to introduce him. And if you don’t want to introduce him in this fashion, we’ll have someone else play him,'" he recalled.

Directed by James Mangold, "Logan" also stars Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Dafne Keen, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez. The film arrives in theaters March 3, 2017. "Deadpool 2" is expected to go in front of the cameras early next year.
