Trent Reznor won an Oscar last weekend for his work on The Social Network which, by extension, means that Nine Inch Nails won an Oscar. You see, although Reznor toured with bands in his NIN days, he was always the sole songwriter and composer. So NIN has an Oscar (as does co-composer Atticus Ross — credit where credit is due, always). How cool is that?
For his next trick, Reznor will return to film to provide the music for Timur Bekmambetov’s adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The historical fiction tale posits that vampires are real and they played a central role in the formation of the United States of America we know today. As a young boy, Abraham Lincoln witnesses his mother’s death at the hands of a vampire, and it forever changes his life.
Reznor will play that vampire.
The news comes from Badass Digest via unnamed “sources,” so take this as a rumor and nothing more for now. It would be so darn cool, though.
