Television series based on Marvel's "Cloak and Dagger" and "Runaways" could begin filming as early as next month.

That's according to development-tracking website SeasonZeroCom, which contends that cameras are expected to roll Feb. 15 in New Orleans on Freeform's "Cloak and Dagger" and sometime the same month in Los Angeles on Hulu's "Runaways." However, that information hasn't been confirmed.

Although a "Cloak and Dagger" TV drama has been discussed since at least 2010, alongside plans for “Hulk,” “AKA Jessica Jones” and “Mockingbird," the project wasn't greenlit until April 2016, when the Disney-owned Freeform ordered it straight to series.

Development of a live-action adaptation of "The Runaways" dates back at least that far, when it was intended to be a film directed by Peter Sollett ("Nick And Nora’s Infinite Playlist") from a script by Drew Pearce ("Iron Pearce"). However, after issuing a casting call, Marvel Studios abruptly placed its "Runaways" plans on hold in late 2010. The property jolted back to life in August 2016, when Hulu announced plans for a TV series from Marvel Television and “Gossip Girl” creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

Based on the Marvel Comics characters created by Bill Mantlo and Ed Hannigan, “Cloak and Dagger” will center on Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, teenagers from different backgrounds who grapple with newly acquired superpowers — Tandy can emit daggers of light, while Tyrone can engulf others in darkness — even as they fall in love.

"Runaways" in inspired by the comic created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona about a group of kids who learn their parents are actually members members of the supervillain group the Pride. The children, some of whom inherited their parents' abilities, steal their weapons and resources, and set out to take down the Pride.
