Glee's Dianna Agron and Wasted on the Young's Georgina Haig are rumored to have joined Sony's list of candidates to star opposite Andrew Garfield in the rebooted Spider-Man, Deadline reports.

Other contenders already in the mix include Emma Stone (Zombieland, Easy A), Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) and Dominique McElligott (Moon). The actresses, of course, are being considered for the roles of Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson (earlier reports insisted that MJ won't be Peter Parker's love interest).

Deadline's Mike Fleming also drops this curious unconfirmed morsel: that Sony wants to bring back Venom, who was a villain in Spider-Man 3, "and they are looking at Philip Seymour Hoffman" (Capote). Take that for what it's worth.

Directed by Marc Webb, the reboot will take Peter Parker back to high school in a story that's expected to draw inspiration from Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley's Ultimate Spider-Man.

Spider-Man is set to begin filming in December for a planned July 3, 2012, release.
