UPDATE: According to Verge reporter Julia Alexander, the claims that the Hawkeye TV series has been delayed are incorrect. A Disney representative told her that they are “completely inaccurate.”

A new rumor claims Disney+ Hawkeye series, which was expected to start filming this summer, has been delayed indefinitely.

The claim comes from Murphy's Multiverse, which has provided reliable information related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the past. According to that outlet, Hawkeye has been removed from Marvel Studios' production schedule for 2020. The outlet does note this doesn't mean Hawkeye won't get made eventually. As of right now, this information is unconfirmed and may prove false.

Instead of Hawkeye, Marvel Studios is said to have slated Ms. Marvel to begin production in April. This change also means Moon Knight and She-Hulk, which are currently casting, will film before Hawkeye.

Outside of Jeremy Renner's return as Clint Barton, no other casting news about the miniseries has been officially announced, including the MCU's incarnation of Kate Bishop. Hailee Steinfeld is rumored to be in talks for Kate, she cast doubt on that report shortly after it surfaced.

Hawkeye was announced at Comic-Con International in San Diego. Although details about the miniseries have remained under wraps, Hawkeye will reportedly see Clint mentor Kate and help her take on the mantle of Hawkeye.

Starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, Hawkeye is scheduled to premiere in fall 2021. Disney+ is now available in the U.S.
