Earth is on the brink of total annihilation in the teaser trailer for Rolan Emmerich's Moonfall.

The trailer begins with a view of Earth from space, as a narrator gives a speech in the background. Clips from Moonfall then begin to crackle across the screen as the moon begins to come into view. Halle Berry's Jo Fowler, a NASA executive and former astronaut is seen inside a space vessel as the electronics start to go in and out. We also see John Bradley (Game of Thrones)'s conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman in a diner, where a similar scenario is taking place. Eventually, the moon begins to overshadow Earth as destruction rains down on the citizens of the planet.

A car speeding through the nighttime streets provides a closer look at the devastation taking place, with the road lined with snow and ice, projectiles falling from the sky and buildings being destroyed. Moonfall also stars Patrick Wilson as Brian Harper, an astronaut from Fowler's past and one of the only two people who believes she can prevent the moon and Earth from colliding. However, once Fowler, Harper and Bradley make it up to space, they discover the moon isn't what we've always thought it to be.

Moonfall comes from director Roland Emmerich (Independence Day2012, The Day After Tomorrow) and also stars Michael Peña, Charlie Plummer, Kelly Yu, Eme Ikwuakor, Carolina Bartczak, and Donald Sutherland. The film arrives in theaters Feb. 4, 2022.
