With its focus shifted away from the Jedi and placed squarely on the ground troops, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will look unlike any of the previous seven "Star Wars" films. We've already seen glimpses of the ground battles that will be featured in Gareth Edwards' prequel film, with stormtroopers and Rebel troops storming beaches and colliding in the shadows of stomping AT-ACT vehicles. Now, a commercial for the (appropriately named) Nissan Rogue drops viewers right in the middle of a firefight between Imperial and Rebel forces -- and it's amazing.

While it's obviously a car commercial, the ad also feels like it could just be straight-up footage from "Rogue One," as it's possibly even more action packed than the film's trailers to date. Squads of various stormtroopers open fire on the Rogue as it speeds through explosion after explosion, running parallel with the giant Imperial marching machines. The clip even gives close up looks at new Imperial vehicles and troops in action!

Set outside of the main sequel trilogy that began with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Rogue One” is set just before 1977’s “Star Wars” and details the Rebel plot to steal the Death Star plans from the Empire. Directed by Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla,” “Monsters”) from a script by Gary Whitta and Chris Weitz, “Rogue One” stars Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens on December 16.
