No doubt buoyed by the blockbuster success of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" was named as the most-anticipated film of 2016 in a survey conducted by Fandango.

The online ticketing service asked visitors in the final weeks of December which films, stars and roles they're most looking forward to in the coming year. The first standalone "Star Wars" movie topped the list, followed by "Finding Dory," "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," the new Jason Bourne film and "Captain America: Civil War."

Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman from "Batman v Superman" was voted as the most-anticipated comic book character debuting in a major role.
