While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is burning up box offices worldwide, Disney is already looking ahead to the Marvel heroes’ next adventure. No, not Vol. 3, but rather the eagerly-awaited new Disneyland attraction Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
To that end, the theme park has released a new promo that begins like any ordinary commercial, only to be interrupted by a call for help from Rocket Raccoon.
Replacing the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the Guardians-themed ride opens May 27 at Disney California Adventure Park:
Deep inside his fortress-like collection, the mysterious Taneleer Tivan (aka The Collector) is displaying his newest acquisitions, the Guardians of the Galaxy. They are trapped in customized display cases, suspended over a vast abyss. Unbeknownst to their unscrupulous captor, the intrepid Rocket has escaped and is enlisting the Collector’s VIP guests for help. Guests board a gantry lift, which launches them into a chaotic and hilarious adventure as they join Rocket in an attempt to break his fellow Guardians out of captivity.
The Collector’s museum doubles as the attraction’s queue, and fans waiting in line will be treated to more than 2,200 props on display spanning Marvel comics, movies and television shows.
In theaters now, director James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Baby Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Michael Rooker as Yondu Udonta, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, Chris Sullivan as Taserface, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Glenn Close as Irani Rael, and Kurt Russell as Ego.
