"House of Cards" star Robin Wright is reportedly in final negotiations for the sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi classic "Blade Runner."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wright's is one of three major female roles in the Alcon Entertainment film, which stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. Denis Villeneuve ("Prisoners") will direct.

Few details are known about the sequel, which picks up several decades after the events of the original film. The screenplay was penned “Blade Runner” co-writer Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, based on an idea by Scott and Fancher. Scott will serve as an executive producer.

"Blade Runner 2" is set to arrive Jan. 12, 2018.
