The Boy of Steel receives an unexpected visit from the Boy Wonder in an unlettered preview of DC Comics "Super Sons" #1, which goes on sale Feb. 15.

Originally intended to launch in September, the new series by writer Peter J. Tomasi and Jorge Jimenez reunites Superboy (aka Jon Kent) and Robin (aka Damian Wayne) following the events of the recent "Superman" two-part storyline "In the Name of the Father: World’s Smallest."

In case you missed those issues, by Tomasi and Patrick Gleason, Jon was abducted by Nobody after her covert surveillance of his activities for Damian turned into a rescue. Needless to say, the first meeting of these Super Sons didn't start off on the right foot, as Jon awakened to find himself sedated and restrained by a Damian concerned about the threat posed by the "alien spawn," and outraged by his accidental killing of the Kent family cat. Things went from bad to worse as an angry Superman swiftly arrived in search of his son, leading to a tense but brief stand-off between the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight.

Seeking common ground, and what's best for their children, Superman and Batman shipped off Jon and Damian to a "boot camp" custom-designed to force the boys to work together, instill a sense of trust, and possibly (just possibly) become friends. It worked ... well, about as well as could be expected.

If these pages from "Super Sons" #1 are any indication, the boys still have a lot of work to do on the trust and friendship fronts, as a glowing-eyed Jon, dressed in Boxers Frog pajamas -- presumably they're the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles of the DC Universe -- clearly isn't pleased to find Damian lurking in the shadows of his room (also, note the Superman poster on the wall).

“When I Grow Up” part one! The sons of Batman and Superman have graduated to their own monthly comic—but if they want to survive, they’re going to have to share it! Writer Peter J. Tomasi (BATMAN & ROBIN, SUPERMAN) teams with rising-star artist Jorge Jimenez (EARTH 2) to bring you the adventures of the World’s Smallest. This debut issue looks at the lives of Robin and Superboy and their destiny to follow in their fathers’ footsteps, while we meet a new villain whose ascension parallels the boys’ own understanding of their powers—except that he believes it’s his right to rule over every being on the planet!

In addition, the preview illustrates a contrast between the lives led by the two youngsters, with an average night at Wayne Manor consisting of combat training in the Batcave, while in the Kent (make that "Smith") household, it's a card game with the family before dad has to fly off to work.
