The upcoming "LEGO Movie" spinoff "The LEGO Batman Movie" will show off the Caped Crusader in a whole new light. The irreverent animated comedy will star Will Arnett's gruff and goth Batman as he takes the bright and bubbly Robin (Michael Cera) under his batwing. Additionally, Rosario Dawson will voice Batgirl, another one of the Dark Knight's new recruits.

A spinoff of 2014’s “The LEGO Movie,” “The LEGO Batman Movie” sees Will Arnett reprise his voice role as the Dark Knight, joined by Michael Cera as Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Mariah Carey as the mayor of Gotham and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker. In the film, Batman discovers that if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, he may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

“The LEGO Movie” earned $469 million worldwide, and won an Academy Award for best original song for “Everything is Awesome.” A sequel is planned for Feb. 8, 2019, with another spinoff, “The LEGO Ninjago Movie,” set for release next year.

Arriving February 10, 2017, “The LEGO Batman Movie” is directed by Chris McKay from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith.
