Photos of the newest iteration of the fictional band the Pussycats from the upcoming CW series "Riverdale" have just been revealed. "Riverdale's" executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took to Twitter and posted a set photo showing actresses Ashleigh Murray, Asha Bromfield and Irie Hayleau as the iconic music trio.

In a previous interview with Comic Book Resources, Aguirre-Sacasa said he had a specific image in mind for the rebooted version of the band, telling co-producer Greg Berlanti to "imagine Josie and the Pussycats as Destiny’s Child."

The most noticeable aspect of this first look is the absence of the cheetah print motif as the band members may have abandoned it for a more modern look. That said, newcomer actress Ashleigh Murray, who plays band leader Josie McCoy, certainly looks the part of a rock star. Murray has said she hopes audiences keep an open mind with her interpretation of the character.

Showrunner Aguirre-Sacasa has also posted a few other set pics to Twitter now that production on the show has started, including one of "Supergirl" star Melissa Benoist paying a visit to the set.

"Riverdale" is set to premiere on the CW in January 2017.
