Homecoming is rapidly approaching in the football-loving town of Riverdale, which means Cheer Captain Cheryl Blossom needs to choreograph a stand-out routine for her River Vixen squad. Unfortunately, Cheryl is not used to being upstaged by anyone -- especially Veronica Lodge, whose dance skills are on par, and maybe better than Cheryl's.

In this new clip from Thursday's "Chapter 10: The Lost Weekend," Veronica challenges Cheryl to a dance-off, which feels like a fitting tribute to films like "Step Up" and "Bring it On." Veronica and Cheryl dance it out to "DJ Turn It Up," a song by Amsterdam-based DJ and record production duo Jim Aasgier and Nizzle, a.k.a. Yellow Claw. "So You Think You Can Dance" Canada veteran Paul Becker choreographed the routine, which shows off the impressive moves from both cheerleaders.

According to the official episode description:

The River Vixens debut some standout dance moves on an all new episode of Riverdale this Thursday, April 13, (9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW), as they prepare their Homecoming routine. But things take an unexpected turn when Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) shows up late for practice and Vixen leader Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) punishes her by changing her placement to the back. Veronica quickly responds in the form of a dance-off, asking the River Vixens to vote for the most impressive moves. The dance provides a welcome distraction for Veronica, who must make a difficult decision regarding her father’s potential release from prison.

"Riverdale" airs Thursdays on The CW at 9PM.
