Rich Faber benefit auctions end December 21

Official Press Release

A series of auctions have begun, benefiting Rich Faber and his family. Rich is a well -known comic book inker and co-creator of the indy superhero series Buzzboy. His wife Traci is battling Stage 4 Metastic Melanoma. The Auctions end the evening of Sunday December 21, 2008.

Times aren’t easy for anyone right now, but the Fabers are also raising their 2-year old son at home, and could use all the help that they can get right now as they try to pay for costly cancer treatments for Traci.
100% of the money raised through these auctions will be donated directly to the Faber family. These auctions are being run by me and Mark Hay, of Splash Page Comic Art, who is donating a published and unpublished pieces as well. The Ebay and shipping costs will be absorbed by Mark and I.

Inker Andy Owens has generously donated a page from the top-selling Buffy The Vampire Slayer series (written by Joss Whedon, pencilled by Georges Jeanty, published by Dark Horse).

Firebreather creator Andy Kuhn has also donated a Joker Last Laugh page and will draw a personalized drawing of the Joker on a separate art board for whoever has the highest bid on his page!

Groups like Hero Initiative do a fantastic job of looking for the welfare of comic book legends who are in dire straights, but realistically, there’s only so much money to go around. After consulting Jim McLauchlin, Mark Hay and I initiated our own benefit auction to hopefully blunt some of the financial pain The Fabers are experiencing during this Holiday Season.

I know a lot of people are hurting this year, but I’ve found comic book fans to be a generous population so please bid as much as you can. Any money is appreciated. All the auctions are at:

If you get outbid on your favorite items, you can always purchase art from Rich Faber himself at: – Homepage of Rich Faber, Illustrator – Online Illustration Journal – Homepage of Roboy Red, Thermonuclear-Powered Boy Robot Fun!
