Writer Scott Snyder has two of CBR's highest-rated comics of the week under his belt, with "American Vampire: Survival of the Fittest" #3 garnering 4.5 stars and the final issue of DC Comics' "Detective Comics" getting a 5-star review.

First, Doug Zawisza weighs in on the third issue of Snyder and artist Sean Murphy's "American Vampire" miniseries, saying that while "Nazi vampires may have seemed like enough to draw readers in, but Snyder and Murphy give a payoff worthy of the price of admission and then some."

Then, Kelly Thompson declares Snyder, Jock and Francesco Francavilla's "Detective Comics" #881 virtually perfect, saying, "It's nice to know that the last running issue of Detective Comics prior to starting over at number one was one of the best runs the book has ever had. That can't ever be taken away."
