According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is eyeing Nicole Kidman to play Aquaman's mother Atlanna in the DC Comics superhero film.

The report alleges that Kidman "has been director James Wan's top choice for weeks, with an official offer finally going out yesterday." If Kidman signs on the dotted line, she will join Jason Momoa, who plays the underwater hero Aquaman; Amber Heard, who will appear as the King of Atlantis' love interest Mera; Willem Dafoe as Aquaman adviser Dr. Vulko; and Patrick Wilson, who plays Aquaman's half-brother and rival Orm.

Debuting in 1959's "Adventure Comics" #260 by Jerry Coleman and John Sikela, Atlanna is part of the Atlantis Royal Family. She ventures to the surface world, where she falls in love with a lighthouse keeper and gives birth to a boy named Arther Curry, who goes on to become the superhero Aquaman.

This won't be the first time Kidman has appeared in a DC Film; she also starred as Bruce Wayne's love interest Dr. Chase Meridian in 1995's "Batman Forever."

Directed by James Wan and starring Jason Momoa, “Aquaman” swims into theaters on October 5, 2018.
