A new report from The Wrap claims a member of the Green Lantern Corps. will star alongside DC Comics' greatest heroes in 2017's "Justice League."

In a breakdown of what fans can expect from the comic book blockbuster, the site says "a member of the Green Lantern Corps. will be seen in 'Justice League' in a key sequence." The report doesn't go into detail on what this key sequence will involve, or which Green Lantern is set to flash their emerald ring.

There are many Green Lanterns currently starring in the comics, some  of which reside on the planet Earth. The most famous Green Lantern is Hal Jordan, who starred in the ill-fated 2011 solo film. For fans of the animated series "Justice League" and "Justice League: Unlimited," John Stewart is the Green Lantern they grew up with. Other Earth-based Lanterns include Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz.

A "Green Lanterns" ensemble film is on the Warner Bros. slate for 2020, which could possibly star all the above Lanterns and more.

Opening June 2, 2017, “Wonder Woman” also stars Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Saïd Taghmaoui, Ewen Bremner, Lisa Loven Kongsli and David Thewlis. It’s followed Nov. 17, 2017, by “Justice League,” featuring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons, Jesse Eisenberg, J.K. Simmons, Willem Defoe and Amber Heard.
