After announcing renewals for "Agent Carter" and "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," early reports indicate that ABC will not attempt for a Marvel hat trick. An unnamed source has informed Deadline that the proposed "S.H.I.E.L.D." spinoff series will not be moving forward.

The article states that both Marvel and ABC have "put the brakes" on the series, which was rumored to star the show's season two additions Bobbi "Mockingbird" Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood). News of the spinoff first broke in late April. While the premise of the show was kept under wraps, it was being developed by "S.H.I.E.L.D." executive producer Jeffrey Bell and co-executive producer Paul Zbyszewski. Marvel and ABC declined to comment on the story.

Marvel's presence will still be felt on the network thanks to "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." being renewed for a third season and "Agent Carter" receiving an order for a second batch of episodes. Deadline also mentions that ABC is still working on another potential Marvel series with "American Crime" creator/EP John Ridley.
