In this series we spotlight comic book stories that are likely best left forgotten. Here is an archive of past installments.

Today, based on another suggestion from reader Fraser (who sends in weird Wonder Woman stories as he gets to them), we look at the time that Steve Trevor used Wonder Woman's magic lasso to force her to marry him...

So 1967's Wonder Woman #167 (by Robert Kanigher, Ross Andru and Mike Esposito) opens with Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor just having another typical day out, with her refusing to marry him, when her awesome magic lasso gives him an idea...

How freakin' INSANE does he look on that last page?

He then puts his messed up plan into action...

"Hey, it's not MY fault! You were asking for it!" Man, Steve Trevor, how much do you suck?

After he takes out some of the bad guys by himself, he is in danger of being killed when Wonder Woman yanks him back to safety, and the creep show continues...

So he takes her to get the marriage license, still not quite understanding how messed up this whole thing is...

It's even theoretically limiting her ability to HELP people but he doesn't give a crap! Steve Trevor is the worst!

I like the idea that he'll free her for the honeymoon. Suuuuuuuuuuuure you will, Steve.

Steve's plan puts his OWN life into danger when he is no match for the bank robbers. Luckily for him, the lasso comes loose while they're pummeling him and Wonder Woman comes in to save the day.

So, how do you think she'll handle this? "Boys will be boys"? Yep, boys will be boys!

"Oh well, I can't help it if he wants to try to force me to do things, that's why I love him!

Thanks for the disturbing suggestion, Fraser!
