Earlier this week, images emerged from the set of "Thor: Ragnarok" that found Thor and Loki in a surprising setting: Earth. Considering that "Ragnarok" has been billed as a mostly cosmic adventure, many wondered what the Asgardian brothers were doing running around a set that looked like New York City -- and it might just be a bit of a spoiler. You ready? Now we know why they're in NYC: they're visiting their dad.

The Instagram set photo shows Anthony Hopkins' Odin, literally slumming it as a homeless person in the streets of New York City.

This confirms a rumor that emerged way back in January that Odin, who was deposed and replaced by Loki in 2013's "Thor: The Dark World," that the Allfather would be a "hobo" on Earth warning people of the "impending apocalypse."

This image also causes a few "Thor: Ragnarok" dominos to fall into place. Considering that Thor and Loki have traveled to Earth together to presumably find Odin, that means that Loki's ruse will most likely end in "Raganrok" and that Thor will know his brother has been posing as their father. It's also likely that, considering that most of the film is reportedly set it outer space, this is the lone scene set on Earth. We still don't know what brings Loki and Thor to Earth, if it's anything beyond rescuing Odin.

Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Jeff Goldblum and more, "Thor: Ragnarok" arrives in theaters on November 3, 2017.
