"X-Men" franchise star Hugh Jackman pulled out some real superhero skills over the weekend during his family's trip to Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. E! Online has reported that the "Wolverine" actor saved both his 15-year-old son Oscar and 10-year-old daughter Ava after they were caught in a riptide, which began dragging them out to sea.

Jackman and his children were in the water along with former rugby player Dan Conn and "My Kitchen Rules" contestant Lynzey Murphy when Jackman's two children got caught in a riptide. Jackman then saved his children, with the help from another man, and even waved to swimmers farther out to get them to come closer to the shore. Besides Jackman's heroics, lifeguards made 43 rescues.

Jackman's rep told E! that "Hugh and his family are 100 percent fine," clarifying that the save looked "a lot more dramatic than it was." Murphy told Australia's Daily Telegraph that Jackman "was pretty level headed. If you start freaking out in front of your children it is only going to make it worse."
