Can You Name Each Of These X-Men Members?
After debuting in 1963, the X-Men were a surprisingly consistent team in their early years, with the original five members making up the standard roster for most of the first decade of the team’s existence. In 1975, “Giant Size X-Men” #1 introduced the famous “All-New, All-Different X-Men,” as all but one member of the original X-Men left the group and six new members joined. The All-New, All-Different team lost one member right away, but they stayed pretty consistent for the next few years (“X-Men” was still a bi-monthly title, even when Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum first introduced the new members).
After some prominent new members joined the team in the early 1980s, the team saw its next major roster change during the “Mutant Massacre,” when nearly half the team left due to injuries received in battle against the Marauders. Those mutants were replaced by new members and a year or so later, the team broke up again. When they got back together, they ultimately merged with another team, X-Factor, to form the biggest X-Men team yet. They even had to split the team into “squads,” a Blue Squad and a Gold squad. While they stopped specifically naming them “Blue” and “Gold,” the squad system has remained in place ever since, allowing the X-Men to expand their roster dramatically over the years, as there would could just be multiple squads all technically “X-Men.” With that in mind, see if you can name each of these members of the X-Men!
