Quentin Tarantino's hotly anticipated Western "The Hateful Eight" will ride into theaters on Christmas.

However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, that Dec. 25 premiere is for 70mm only; it will receive digital theatrical release two weeks later, on Jan. 8.

"The Hateful Eight" is set in post-Civil War Wyoming, where a group of bounty hunters tries to find shelter during a blizzard but instead gets drawn into a plot of deception and betrayal. It features an ensemble cast that includes Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Walton Goggins and Tim Roth.

The film joins a crowded Christmas slate that already boasts the Will Smith NFL drama "Concussion," the "Point Break" remake and Oliver Stone's "Snowden."
