Artwork reportedly from Marvel Studios‘ upcoming “Thor: Ragnarok” has surfaced online, and should it prove to be the real deal, it shows off not only the Hulk’s long-anticipated gladiator outfit look, but a new look for Chris Hemworth’s god of thunder as well.
The artwork, which debuted via Thailand Superhero Club’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, depicts the jade giant in the gladiator armor Marvel debuted at 2016’s Comic-Con International. At his side is the title hero, sporting a new helmet and wielding a pair of swords rather than his iconic hammer, Mjolnir.
The translated text also describes what sounds like a scene from the film, or more likely, an early trailer.
– got a colosseum of course.
– there’s a scene at the Gladiator Hulk, Thor, Loki, grandmaster talk.
– there’s a scene banner is in transition. and in the same scene with Thor, Valkyrie, hela
Only time will tell whether the artwork is legit; the movie just wrapped filming in November, and as of yet there has been no announcement as to when fans will be treated to the first trailer of video footage. While the Hulk’s appearance is on point with what we know of the character and his armor so far, Thor’s face does not really look like Hemsworth, and Marvel Studios’ concept art typically does a good job of capturing actors’ likenesses. Thor is, however, sporting facepaint, which would sync the character with the first glimpse we’ve had of Tessa Thompson, aka Valkyrie. Thompson was shown wearing facepaint of her own in a behind the scenes video shared by director Taika Waititi.
Opening Nov. 3, 2017, “Thor: Ragnarok” also stars Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban and Mark Ruffalo.
