After seven years away from the world of superheroes, it looks like director Lexi Alexander will soon get behind the camera once again to craft some street-level comic book action. Alexander, who previously directed the 2008 Marvel movie "Punisher: War Zone," revealed via Twitter that she will be directing an episode of the CW's "Arrow" this August.

They have not. But I'm excited to direct Arrow in August. ;-) https://t.co/hoMNh6N8B2- Lexi Alexander (@Lexialex) June 4, 2015

The reveal came after she was asked if Marvel has approached her to direct an episode of one of their Netflix shows. Considering how over-the-top violent "Punisher: War Zone" was, Alexander's sensibilities would possibly work well in the dark and unrated Netflix realm. Instead, Alexander will put her skills -- which additionally includes both work as a stunt woman and karate training -- to work on a DC Comics character for the first time.

Thanks to an Instagram post from the "Arrow" writing staff, we know that production has already begun on the show's fourth season. The writers have already assembled to begin crafting the next batch of episodes, which will premiere on the CW this fall.
