Following the debut of the teaser trailer last week for Marvel's The Punisher, Netflix has released the first look at Jon Bernthal in full costume from the Daredevil spinoff.

Standing in some kind of access tunnel, Bernthal's Frank Castle sports the antihero's signature death's head logo and ammo pouches. While the shadows make details difficult to discern, the look certainly appears faithful to the character's comic book roots.

Jon Bernthal as The Punisher

After the murder of his family, Frank Castle is both haunted and hunted. In the criminal underworld, he'll become known as The Punisher.

Bernthal debuted as Castle last year on the second season of Daredevil as a vigilante determined to rid Hell's Kitchen of organized crime using any means necessary, which brings him to conflict not only with the police but with Charlie Cox's Man Without Fear. As the season unfolds, we learn Castle is an ex-Marine who's set out to avenge his wife and children, who were killed in the crossfire when an organized-crime sting went bad.
