A new synopsis for The Punisher sheds a little more light on the upcoming Marvel Netflix series.

The new synopsis (below) teases a conspiracy that is deeper than it may first appear. It also reveals that Frank's public identity as the Punisher will be already established in the series. The release date for the show -- which will stream exclusively on Netflix -- is still under wraps, though new images and a poster were released earlier today.

In Marvel’s The Punisher, after exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

The Twitter account for The Punisher also shared the titles of all 13 episodes, which were coded, before debuting a promo video that introduced the main cast.

The Punisher stars Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Daniel Webber as Lewis Walcott, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Farah Madani, and Paul Schulze as Rawlins, with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio in an undisclosed role.
