Now comes the waiting.

Director Paul Feig tweeted this Saturday an official end to production on the upcoming "Ghostbusters" film starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Along with Feig's tweet, JustJarded, Paul Feig Fans and more tweeted some more images from the final day of production.

The film centers at first on Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig’s characters, authors of a book claiming ghosts are in fact real that find themselves laughing stocks in the academic community. They eventually meet up with Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones’ characters and set out to prove the existence of ghosts — presumably by ‘busting them.

Opening July 22, 2016, "Ghostbusters" also stars Neil Casey as a villain named Rowan, Chris Hemsworth as receptionist Kevin, Andy Garcia as the Mayor of New York, Michael K. Williams as Hawkins and Matt Walsh as Rourke, with original cast members Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson appearing in unspecified roles.
