An electrifying motion poster has emerged online based on the first teaser image that was recently released for Shane Black’s The Predator. This new poster animates a lightning strike over a city, with its bolts taking on the distinct shape of the alien hunter amid the rumbling thunder, depicting a setting that emphasizes the film's urban playground.

The movie officially wrapped production last June and will act as a sequel to the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi action film about a team of commandos marooned in the Central American jungle where they encounter a murderous extraterrestrial warrior hunting them as game. Black's new film will see humanity encountering more than one Predator, but this time not in a jungle. Instead, it takes a page out of the Alien vs. Predator films and Predator 2, moving to a suburbia setting, and away from the 2010 alien world seen in Predators.

Cameras began rolling on the project in February, with Black taking to social media to share a first look at the ensemble cast. Details have been kept under wraps about the movie’s plot, except that it’s expected to be a bloody and R-rated affair.

Directed and co-written by Black, The Predator stars Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key and 50 Cent. The film is scheduled for release on Feb. 9, 2018.
