AMC has released a series of Preacher character portraits and a new featurette for the Vertigo Comics-based series, featuring new footage from the second season, in addition to interviews with the cast and executive producers.

"It's really exciting to see where this road trip-caper leads them, and see what sticky situations they manage to get themselves out of in their wily way," Ruth Negga teased in the featurette.

Dominic Cooper said, "It feels great to be back, and it's great to have Seth [Rogen] and Evan [Goldberg] back directing."

"[Executive producers] Seth [Rogen], Sam [Catlin] and Evan [Goldberg], they wanted to bring a sense of reality to that whole journey...which will be stressful at times," Joseph Gilgun said.

Rogen said of the series, "Preacher is really able to do unique action. I think we approach it differently than a lot of shows...there's a sense of insanity and mayhem; at times, a macabre sense of humor...There's a lot of moments that could only exist on our show, and we're trying to make more moments that could only exist on our show."

Cooper concluded, "That makes for a really interesting concoction of ideas."

Fans can start getting prepared for a double helping of Preacher this summer; the second season of the Seth Rogen/Evan Goldberg-executive produced series premieres June 25 at 10/9c on AMC, followed by a second episode on June 26 at 9/8c -- the series’ regular time slot.

The hit show, based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, follows Jesse, a criminal-turned-preacher who realizes that God is gone from Heaven and goes on a search to find Him, leading him, Tulip, and Cassidy to New Orleans. While in New Orleans, they have to battle secret agents, local gangs, and the central villain of the series, the Saint of Killers, a cowboy from Hell.
