Tulip hasn’t had a great time in New Orleans on Preacher. She was forced to face Viktor, the husband she walked out on without a word before the start of the series, Cassidy is always nearby to serve as a constant reminder of their regrettable one-night-stand, and, oh, she was almost murdered by the Saint of Killers.
However, this week Tulip gets her groove back — but good. In a CBR-exclusive clip from the Sept. 4 episode of the AMC drama, “On Your Knees” (the penultimate episode of Season 2), a semi-cheerful Tulip takes out the trash in Denis’ building, only to be confronted with the boogeyman she thought she’d escaped. But instead of freezing or fleeing in terror when he makes for Jesse, she bellows, “You leave him alone!” and punches him square in the nose.
We’re not under the impression Tulip’s fist of fury will be the Saint’s death blow, but it was great to see her fabulous temper reappear. It makes us nostalgic for the time she punched Donnie on the playground. We didn’t actually see that, but we bet it looked something like this.
Airing Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC, Preacher stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Joseph Gilgun as Irish vampire Cassidy, Ruth Negga as his gun-toting ex-girlfriend Tulip O’Hare, Lucy Griffiths as waitress Emily Woodrow, Ian Colletti as Eugene Root, aka Arseface, W. Earl Brown as Sheriff Hugo Root; Tom Brooke and Anatol Yusef as the Adelphia angels Fiore and DeBlanc, and Graham McTavish as the bounty hunter The Saint of Killers.
