The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Jackie Earle Haley has been cast as Odin Quincannon in AMC's "Preacher" adaptation. Haley, who previously played Rorschach in Zack Snyder's "Watchmen" feature film, will bring the villain from the Vertigo comic series to life in a six-episode arc.

THR describes Odin as "a small, decrepit man with the unscrupulous iron will necessary to be the most powerful man in Annville County, Texas." The characters also runs the Quincannon Meat & Power, a 125-year-old family run cattle slaughterhouse business, that is the main employer in Annville County. Odin becomes a primary antagonist for "Preacher" lead Jesse Custer towards the end of the comic's run, appearing in issues #42-48 of the comic series.

Starring Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun as Rev. Jesse Custer, Tulip O'Hare and Cassidy, the "Preacher" pilot will debut at March's South by Southwest festival before making its eventual network premiere at an as-yet unannounced date.
