Powerless Clip Reveals Wayne Security-LexCorp Rivalry

In the new NBC comedy, the threat may not come from Lex Luthor's villainous schemes but instead his company's superior products.

Although a showdown between Batman and Lex Luthor isn't in the cards, viewers of "Powerless" will see a rivalry between Wayne Security and LexCorp.

A new clip from the NBC comedy, which is set within the DC Universe, depicts Vanessa Hudgens' Emily Locke on a tour of Wayne Security, where she witnesses the testing phase of an airbag-type suit designed to protect average people "against collateral damage from superhero battles." The comedic payoff comes when it's revealed the product is designed by LexCorp, and that Wayne Security is simply searching for a way "to make a cheap knock-off."

“Powerless” centers on the everyday lives of people in a world populated by super-powered heroes and villains. The workplace comedy follows Emily Locke (Hudgens), who begins her new job as director of research and development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer as they try not to become collateral damage in the battles between superheroes and supervillains.

Premiering Thursday, Feb. 2, at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, "Powerless" also stars Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches and Christina Kirk.
