George Perez's cover for "Worlds' Finest" #1

After this morning's first look at Ivan Reis and Joe Prado's variant cover for "Earth 2" #1, DC Comics has released George Perez's cover for "Worlds' Finest" written by Paul Levitz with a rotating art team of Perez and Kevin Maguire. Revealed via The Source, the cover features a familiar design for Huntress and a heavily redesigned Power Girl, while Supergirl and Robin -- presumably Power Girl and Huntress' Earth 2 identities -- look on in the background. Levitz's "Worlds' Finest" #1 drops in May as part of DC's "Second Wave" of the New 52. The series follows Huntress and Power Girl as they struggle to find their way home to Earth 2 and will connect to James Robinson's "Earth 2" ongoing series, continuing the world-building of the New 52's "Second Wave."

"They're companion pieces, but they can be read separately. Again, this is part of the world-building. What we have in Huntress and Power Girl are two exiles from Earth 2," DC Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras told CBR in January. "They are on our world. Part of the ongoing saga is, what do you do when you're exiled from your world? Do you try everything you can to get back to that world that you know, or do you accept what you think is fate and make a new life here? I think that dynamic and that difference of opinion between these two main characters is what's going to drive that series. But again, with a series like 'Earth 2' also being put out there, there is an ongoing story linking these books. I keep using the term, but it is key: it's world-building and it's universe-building."

Perez's cover for "Worlds' Finest" #1 is the most recent in this week's reveals in anticipation of the "Second Wave" in May, following Reis and Prado's "Earth 2" #1 variant, Ian Churchill's art for "The Ravagers," and the announcement of artistic shifts for "Animal Man," "Resurrection Man," "Birds of Prey" and "Suicide Squad." Other previously announced changes occurring in May with the launch of the "Second Wave" include Rob Liefeld taking over "Deathstroke," "The Savage Hawkman" and "Grifter;" Peter Milligan assuming writing duties for "Stormwatch," Jeff Lemire scribing "Justice League Dark" and writer Matt Kindt taking on "Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E."
