Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" has a secret that it just shared with its international audience: Keira Knightley will return as fan-favorite character Elizabeth Swann. As spotted by io9, the film's Japanese trailer has a ton of new footage, but the scene that franchise fans will be the most excited about is the one that shows Elizabeth back in the mix of pirate mayhem.

Back in December, an unverified report claimed that Knightley would return to the world of "Pirates of the Caribbean." According to the report, the actress secretly filmed her role for the fifth installment of the blockbuster franchise. Citing anonymous sources, the report alleged that Knightley would appear in scenes with fellow original stars Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. The trailer above appears to confirm this report.

Granted, the shot of Elizabeth doesn't show her talking or moving much; she's looking hopeful, excited even, by whatever (or whoever) she sees in the distance. Overall, the trailer shows much more of Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and new characters, including Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), Will and Elizabeth's son Henry (Brenton Thwaites) and new villain Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem).
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" comes to theaters May 26.
