UPDATE 3/6/2015: 1:05 PM PT: Warner Bros. Television has provided the following statement to CBR News, when reached for comment on Jada Pinkett Smith indicating she's leaving "Gotham" following its current, first season:

"Fish Mooney's storyline takes a lot of interesting twists and turns into the finale of season one of 'Gotham.'"

On Friday's episode of "Live! with Kelly and Michael," Jada Pinkett Smith spoke about her role as Fish Mooney on "Gotham" and what's in store for the character, dropping the hint that she may not return for season two.

When asked if she would be in season two, Pinkett Smith shook her head and responded, "I don't think so. I signed for a year, and the year's up -- but there are some great things coming ahead on 'Gotham,' believe you me."

Towards the end of the interview, when prompted by host Michael Strahan, Pinkett Smith did appear to walk back her earlier statements a bit, stating, "She could show up anywhere! You never know!"

CBR News has reached out to Fox and Warner Bros. TV for confirmation.

Watch Pinkett Smith discuss her fate as Fish Mooney at the 4:41 mark, below.

"Gotham" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
