"The LEGO Movie" directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have completed the first draft of the sequel's script, which they're writing along with Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan.

Chris Miller gave the following update on the script over Twitter:

Just turned in the official first draft of LEGO Movie 2. Hello, Thanksgiving.

While Lord & Miller are handling script duties, Rob Schrab (director of "Community's" "G.I. Joe" episode) is taking over as director. Schrab recently revealed that he's in talks with the BBC over "Doctor Who," with hopes that he can get the Doctor to appear in the film.

Set four years after the original, "The LEGO Movie 2" is slated for a May 18, 2018 release.
