Horror fans got quite a surprise this week when word surfaced of a new Phantasm film. In addition to the poster boasting the full title, Phantasm V: Ravager, writer and director Don Coscarelli also unveiled the first teaser trailer, which not only features the iconic Tall Man played by Angus Scrimm, but also Reggie Bannister's bad ass ice cream man Reggie and Michael Baldwin's Mike.

Coscarelli made the original Phantasm on weekends with Bannister, Scrimm, Baldwin and Bill Thornbury. Since that film's 1979 debut, three sequels have been released, all written and directed by Coscarelli. While complicated, the Phantasm movies find regular people fighting back against the Tall Man, an entity set on converting the dead into interdimensional hooded dwarves.

Described as Coscarelli's fifth and final Phantasm entry, Ravager does not yet have a release date nailed down.
