After keeping relatively quiet on the subject, Ron Perlman has become pretty vocal lately about his desire to suit up as Hellboy for a third time. He's tried to stir up support for "Hellboy III" via Twitter and spoken at length on the subject in interviews. Now, it looks like some of that support may have paid off -- if you read a lot into the caption of one of Perlman's recent Instagram posts.

Lurking... Waiting... And then, poof... One more Roman numeral after the name... As if by magic........... A photo posted by Ron Perlman (@perlmutations) on

While there's no official word yet from Perlman or "Hellboy" helmer Guillermo Del Toro regarding the status of "Hellboy III," that caption implies that some good news could be on the way; it's equally possible that this is more "Secret"-style positive energy that Perlman's putting out into the universe.

When asked two weeks ago about "Hellboy III's" chances, Perlman said he had no real updates to offer. "I don't have any news for you, but there's always a chance," Perlman said. "I'm getting to that age where, if I waited much longer, 'Hellboy III' will be performed out of a wheelchair. So I was basically trying to say, if there's going to be this thing, it should be sooner rather than later."

Perlman opened up about what the film could be about, saying, "'Hellboy III' was designed to resolve the dilemma of whether the Beast of the Apocalypse was going to, in fact, live up to his oracle, his destiny of destroying mankind, or whether the Beast that we've seen nurtured over the years has taken his immense superpower and used it in the opposite way, to protect mankind. Which one will will out? The destiny part of it is irreversible and nonnegotiable, so something rather dramatic has to happen in the third movie to find out which Hellboy prevails."
