It's been more than a year since word surfaced that Paul McCartney would join fellow music legend Keith Richards in Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, and now at long last we have our first look at him in full costume and makeup in Dead Men Tell No Tales.

McCartney debuted his character poster this afternoon on Twitter, but offered no details about the nature of his role. If the film's listing on IMDb.com can be trusted, he's playing "Jail Guard 2," but that doesn't tell us much. Judging from the image, however, we might guess he enjoys playing cards.

The fifth installment of the fantasy-adventure franchise, which has grossed $3.73 billion to date, finds Jack Sparrow pursued by old rival Captain Salazar, who has escaped from the Devil’s Triangle with his ghost crew, and is now determined to kill every pirate at sea. To defeat him, Jack must seek the Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that grants whoever possesses it total control of the sea.

Directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg from a script by Jeff Nathanson, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales stars Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar, Geoffrey Rush as Hector Barbossa, Brenton Thwaites Henry, Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smyth, Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs, Golshifteh Farahani as the sea-witch Shansa, David Wenham as Scarfield, Stephen Graham as Scrum and Orlando Bloom as Will Turner. The film opens May 26.
