Following the release of Marvel's May solicitations, which lacked information on an upcoming issue of "Patsy Walker, A.K.A. Hellcat!," series writer Kate Leth has confirmed that the series will conclude in April with issue #17. Leth also made sure to let readers know that the book is ending on the creative team's terms and will conclude as they had initially planned.

Hey friends! You may have noticed that Hellcat is absent from May’s Marvel solicitations. It’s true, we’re ending at issue 17! On our terms.— Kate Leth ?️‍? (@kateleth) February 21, 2017

In follow-up tweets, Leth said, "We’ve known it was coming, and Marvel has been spectacular enough to give us space to wrap up the story exactly how we wanted in 3 volumes. I know it might come as a shock, and our whole team will miss the book too, but 17 issues with one team is pretty wild! We’ve been lucky!" Leth also mapped out the remaining two issues, saying that "the story wraps up in a very real and satisfying way (I hope) with #16." Leth added that the final issue, #17, "is like a fun BONUS EPISODE at THE MALL."

"I am enormously proud of this book, of our team, and thrilled we got to tell SO MUCH story. We made Vampire Jubilee work. All I can hope for," Leth continued. "It, like our audience, is queer, fun, weird, delightful and almost purely made of joy. So, thank you! Thank you with all my heart."

Launched in December 2015, the series from writer Leth and artist Brittney Williams debuted following the introduction of the character to a larger audience via the Netflix series "Jessica Jones," where she was played by Rachael Taylor. The series marks Hellcat's longest time in the spotlight as a costumed superhero; she previously held down her own limited series in 2000 and 2008. The character originally debuted in the Golden Age as a teen character in romance comic. The first "Patsy Walker" romance series ran from 1945 to 1965, lasting 124 issues.

The solicit info for the final issue of "Patsy Walker, A.K.A. Hellcat!" is below.

PATSY WALKER, A.K.A. HELLCAT! #17

KATE LETH (W) • BRITTNEY L. WILLIAMS (A/C)

MALL MADNESS! How can Patsy be spending this much time with Jubilee and NOT go to the mall? Will they swing by the food court? Catch a movie? Have a fashion montage? Certainly no villains will be there. What would a villain possibly be doing at the mall??
