As part of Sony Animation Day, the film studio finally pulled back the digital curtain on the cast of "The Emoji Movie." In June of 2015, Sony Pictures Animation announced it outbid three studios for the rights to create a fictional narrative around emojis, and now all emoticons are on the table -- including the Poop Emoji, as we learned during Sony's round of announcements.Regardless of how the script turns out, the studio has rounded up a great set of actors to bring life and emotion to the emojis. Sir Patrick Stewart ("Logan") highlights the cast, bringing his Shakespearean training and gravitas to the role of... the Poop Emoji? Maya Rudolph plays Smiler, the smiling Emoji, with Ilana Glazer ("Broad City") as Codebreaker Emoji, James Corden as High-Five Emoji and Steven Wright as Meh Emoji.RELATED: Amazon Launches Anime Channel

Very few plot details are known, other than the fact that the lead character will be voiced by T.J. Miller ("Deadpool). According to the official synopsis, Miller's character will be an emoji of many faces, learning to deal in a world where everyone can only make one.

The film will center on Gene, a multi-expressional emoji who sets out on a journey to become a normal emoji.

The studio recently released a short teaser trailer. The footage introduces us to Mel Meh (Wright), along with a brief taste of Ice Cream Emoji played by Rob Riggle ("22 Jump Street"). Plus, for good measure, it closes with a quality poop joke. Expect plenty of those when the film hits theaters this August.

During the presentation, the studio also confirmed exciting details on its animated Spider-Man movie, along with highlighting their very smurfy sequel; "Smurfs: The Lost Village."

Featuring the voices of Patrick Stewart, T.J. Miller, Maya Rudolph, Ilana Glazer, James Corden and Steven Wright, "The Emoji Movie" releases August 4th, 2017 in theaters.
