T.S. Nowlin might be the most popular screenwriter whose films you haven’t seen yet. Earlier this year, his script for Agent 13 set off a bidding war from which Universal Pictures emerged victorious, and earlier this month, word broke that another of his scripts, this one called Our Name is Adam, was about to go on the auction block if Paramount Pictures didn’t exercise its first-look deal with Pacific Rim producer Mary Parent.
Deadline now reports that Paramount has in fact secured the rights to the film, along with co-producers Skydance Productions. The website also reveals a bit more about the mysterious project: Attached star Tom Cruise will play an astronaut who goes back in time and teams up with himself on an adventure. Where this fits in with Cruise’s already-busy schedule, which includes Mission: Impossible 5 and remakes of Van Helsing and The Magnificent Seven, remains to be seen.
