The Paramount Pictures/Bad Robot relationship continues to bring new and interesting concepts to the development process. Recently, two new collaborations were announced for the studio’s partnership with J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk’s production company.
A sci-fi script called God Particle written by Oren Uziel (The Kitchen Sink) just got snatched up, Vulture reports. This film finds a group of astronauts stranded in their space station when the Earth disappears after an accident with the Large Hadron Collider. Sources say Abrams will co-produce the film, which will most likely be kept very low-budget, at about $5 million, in hopes that it will be the next Paranormal Activity or Chronicle.
In other news, Paramount and Bad Robot also picked up a script by Patrick Aison (Echo Station) called Wunderkind that follows the adventures of a pair of Nazi hunters, one from the United States and the other from Israel, as they track down war criminals in the 1970s, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The two scripts seem to go with the previous stable of Bad Robot/Paramount films, which have mostly stuck with the sci-fi or action genres, except for the 2010 comedy Morning Glory.
