DC Comics is set to debut "Harley Quinn Annual" #1 on October 29, and according to MTV, the issue will feature four rub and smell scents that may surprise readers. Series writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner revealed the smells to be leather, suntan lotion, pizza and a final olfactory teaser that will actually be different in the international version of the comic.

"How do we stay mysterious on this without giving it away? Yeah, the scent that is available in the U.S. version is easier to get than it is elsewhere," Palmiotti told MTV News.

"Here is what I'm wondering, how often do the Grateful Dead play internationally?" Conner added. "That's what I'm wondering."

"This is definitely a book that you will get you going back to in your box of comics," Palmiotti said, "and you might be taking it out now and again to smell it again. You might want to bag it, you know?"

Despite "Harley Quinn" not being a Spider-Man comic, it's likely that the writers are referring to the smell of Mary Jane, which won't be included in the international version. (It will instead be "fresh-cut lawn clippings.") All four smells will be tied to the four parts of the story, which sees Harley Quinn attempt to rescue Poison Ivy from Arkham Asylum. MTV News also revealed that several artists will contribute to the issue, including John Timms with Paul Mounts on colors, Stjepan Sejic, Joe Quinones, Ben Caldwell with Rico Renzi on colors and Kelley Jones with Michelle Madsen on colors.
