Fresh off his role as Patrick Hockstetter in It, Owen Teague is once again teaming with director Andy Muschietti for a horror-tinged adaptation in Hulu's Locke and Key. According to Deadline, Teague will portray Sam Lesser, a deeply troubled adolescent who murders the father of the Locke children.

Locke and Key is an adaptation of the IDW comic series by author Joe Hill and artist Gabriel Rodriguez. Hill has put together an impressive string of bestsellers since his debut novel, Heart-Shaped Box, which took home the Bram Stoker Award for Best First Novel in 2007.

Locke and Key tells the story of the Locke Family, who, after the tragic murder of the family patriarch, relocate to fictional Lovecraft, Massachusetts and take up residence in the mysterious Key House. The Locke children soon discover a series of magical keys, as well as an evil presence lurking within the house.

The comic book series was originally developed as a pilot for Fox back in 2011, but the company ultimately passed on the project. After a few years in development hell, the series landed a pilot order from Hulu. The script for the hour-long pilot will be written by Hill and Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel), who will also serve as showrunner.

Andy Muschietti (It, Mama) will be stepping in for departing director Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange). Locke and Key is already shaping up to be an It reunion of sorts, with Muschietti at the helm and Teague joining a cast that already includes It alums Jackson Robert Scott as Bode Locke and Megan Charpentier as Kinsey Locke.

Locke & Key will also star Frances O'Connor, Jack Mulhern and Danny Glover. Joe Hill will serve as executive producer alongside Carlton Cuse and Barbara Muschietti.
